My approach to psychopharmacology is to start low and go slow with attentiveness to adjustment reactions, side effects, and the risk of dependency or withdrawal. I have helped many patients who come to me on regimens that are not working well for them or that are causing unpleasant side effects or addiction. I am able to help patients taper off benzodiazepines safely, when appropriate. I believe that finding an effective and safe medication regimen should be a collaborative experience where the patient feels comfortable and knowledgeable about what they are taking.
Depression, anxiety, ADHD, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, OCD, PTSD, grief, medication use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, postpartum issues, gender identity issues, relationship issues, career and creativity issues, as well as other other life problems and concerns.
In addition to medications and talk therapy, I may also recommend treatments such as light therapy, mindfulness meditation, emotional support animals, nutritional supplements, and other behavioral and lifestyle interventions.
North Brooklyn Psychiatry is an out of network provider which means that we do not take insurance, but you may be eligible for reimbusement from your insurance plan if you have out of network coverage. Payment is due at the time of service. You will be provided with an invoice which will have all the codes and information you need for reimbursement. HSA cards are accepted.
